It’s been a successful period for Gary Colvin.

The Wagga trainer took just three horses to Albury on Saturday and left with three winners, with Doc MarchMade Easy, and Divron greeting the judge first for connections.

John Kissick was aboard Doc March ($2.20), which stormed home strongly to secure a 2.26-length victory in the 1500m Maiden Handicap.

Holly Durnan was then in the saddle as the impressive Made Easy ($5.50) won his second race at just his third start in the 1400m Class One Handicap.

Durnan went to the front on the 4YO Press Statement gelding, leading all the way on what appears to be Colvin’s next Country Championships prospect.

Rounding out the Albury treble, Colvin then won with Divron ($31) as Durnan rode 5YO Divine Prophet mare to a strong finish and heart-stopping victory in the 1175m Class One Handicaps.

Backing up on his home track at Wagga on Tuesday, Colvin prepared his 10th winner for the season as the ever-consistent Pride Of Jezza ($2.50) secured the second victory of his career in the 1600m Class One Handicap.

Unlucky not to win at Wagga when first-up from a spell on November 29, Blaike McDougall took the ride, with the pair getting home by a half-length.

It’s been a good season for Colvin, who won a Highway Handicap in late October as Southern Dancer backed up from a win in the 1675m Benchmark 66 Handicap at Wagga on October 15, to take out the 1600m Class Three Highway at Royal Randwick on October 25.

Colvin’s attention now turns to Canberra on Friday, where Persian Dancer (Jeff Penza, 55kg) takes on the 1400m TAB Federal, before meetings at Moulamein and Albury on Saturday.
