Kevin Kemp is hoping for some luck at Dalby

Kevin Kemp.

Kevin Kemp will travel to Dalby tomorrow (Thursday) chasing a win with Linthorpe Luck in the 1400m Maiden Handicap.

The 3YO Jet Spur gelding debuted at Toowoomba on June 7 and made good ground late to finish eighth in an 1100m Maiden Plate, beaten 4.7 lengths.

The event, albeit a maiden, has proven to be a good form race for punters.

The winner, Eleanor Nancy, trained by Mark Currie, came out at Kilcoy on June 19 and was a class above in the 1200m Benchmark 55 Handicap.

Adding to that, the runner-up Heroic Beach, trained by Matt Kropp, then came out and won the 1200m Maiden Handicap at Toowoomba on June 23.

Adding more merit to the strength of the event, the third-placed Tarmac, trained by Chris Anderson, came second in a 1200m Maiden Handicap at the Gold Coast on June 21, and the fifth-placed In Great Spirit, also trained by Anderson, won the 1200m Maiden Plate at Kilcoy on June 19.

Linthorpe Luck gets in at Dalby with 57.5kg following Stacey Callow’s claim, and connections have drawn gate 8.

It will be a big day at Dalby, with their eight-race program kicking off at 12.20pm.
